Green Schools Program

Hammond goes green everyday! We are focused on making our school green any way that we can from recycling juice pouches and reducing paper waste to teaching our students how to grow, transplant, and harvest their own vegetables. With support from the PTA, HES is dedicated to teaching environmental literacy and stewardship hoping to reduce the environmental footprint of our school and community.

Cultural Arts Assemblies

The largest part of our PTA budget covers the cost of bringing Cultural Arts and Assemblies to Hammond Elementary. Please help support our fundraising efforts to continue to bring these amazing programs year after year. See details here.

Staff appreciation

Throughout the year the PTA shows our support for the wonderful dedicated teachers and staff here at HES through many ways. The PTA provides meals during the busy back to school time and at conference times and we dedicate a week in the Spring to showering them with good food and gifts and little "extras" that help us let them know how thankful we are to have them instructing our children. We also provide the Principal a dedicated monetary amount to spend during the year on items such as cards and snacks for the staff and every month a special staff member is nominated by the students or parents for the "Tuffy Pride" award and is recognized on the morning announcements and given a gift card by the PTA.

The PTA also offers a dedicated monetary amount each year to reimburse teachers and para educators who are members of the PTA for out-of-pocket classroom expenses and we have a dedicated monetary amount each year to provide any retiring teachers a token of our appreciation for their service to Hammond ES.
